The theory: AI should be fair, transparent, and accountable. The reality: Implementing these principles in production systems with legacy constraints, regulatory requirements, and business pressures is complex.

Bias in Historical Data

Challenge: Your training data reflects historical biases Reality: You can't just "remove bias" - you need to decide what fairness means for your specific use case Solution: Define fairness metrics upfront and build monitoring systems to track them
